Basketball Recap: Stuart Skates Past Ansley/Litchfield with Ease

On Saturday, the Stuart Broncos took their contest with ease, bagging a 64-28 victory over the Ansley/Litchfield Spartans. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 25 points or more this season.

Leading Stuart to victory were Gavynn Mustin and Kayde Ramm. Mustin went 7 for 11 on his way to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, while Ramm went 5 of 12 on his way to 11 points along with eight boards and five assists. Mustin has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 22 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Tubbs, who posted 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Stuart was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ansley/Litchfield only racked up two assists.

When it comes to explaining why Ansley/Litchfield lost, don't look at Luke Bailey. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. That was a full 46.4% of Ansley/Litchfield's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points.

The win made it two in a row for Stuart and bumps their season record up to 7-1. As for Ansley/Litchfield, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

Stuart will face off against West Holt at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Stuart is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.1 points per game this season. As for Ansley/Litchfield, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 49-46 victory against Sandhills/Thedford on the 31st.
