Softball Recap: Doherty Memorial Comes Up Short

Doherty Memorial couldn't beat Tantasqua Regional on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Highlanders came up short against the Warriors, falling 14-4. The Highlanders were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Doherty Memorial saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella LLanos, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Doherty Memorial has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Tantasqua Regional, the win keeps they at an undefeated 12-0.

Doherty Memorial and Tantasqua Regional should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. The Highlanders (ranked 65th) will meet North Middlesex Regional (ranked 266th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Tantasqua Regional will take on Clinton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (7 vs. 122).
