Basketball Game Preview: Colonial Beach Drifters vs. Essex Trojans

The Colonial Beach Drifters are taking a road trip to take on the Essex Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Last Tuesday, Colonial Beach had just enough and edged Rappahannock out 50-47.

Meanwhile, Essex was able to grind out a solid win over Northumberland on Tuesday, taking the game 59-49.

Essex pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Colonial Beach, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Colonial Beach was able to grind out a solid victory over Essex when the teams last played on January 14th, winning 56-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Colonial Beach since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
