Basketball Recap: Gabby Baker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cape Hatteras over Northside - Pinetown

After flying high against Albemarle School last Friday, Cape Hatteras came back down to earth. The Hurricanes came up short against the Northside - Pinetown Panthers on Thursday, falling 51-26. The loss continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Cape Hatteras lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Gabby Baker, who posted six points and six boards. Taylor Hickman was another key player, putting up seven points.

Cape Hatteras' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Cape Hatteras won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Camden County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northside - Pinetown, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mattamuskeet at 6:00 p.m. on December 2.
