It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Shakopee ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Prior Lake Lakers 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Sabers sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

Shakopee saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Schroeder, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one RBI.

Shakopee pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Prior Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Shakopee will square off against Lakeville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Prior Lake, they will welcome Burnsville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lakers are facing the Blaze at the right time seeing as the Blaze are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
