Soccer Game Preview: St. Thomas Catholic vs. St. Pius X

St. Thomas Catholic has won seven straight games at home, while St. Pius X has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The St. Thomas Catholic Eagles will host the St. Pius X Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

St. Thomas Catholic is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 13-1 margin over St. John XXIII on Friday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Lions are ranked 546th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, St. Pius X kept a clean sheet against Concordia Lutheran on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Crusaders with a sharp 8-0 victory. Thomas McGowan was a massive factor in the win as he booted in four goals all by himself.

St. Thomas Catholic's win bumped their record up to 17-1. As for St. Pius X, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which somehow still isn't as good as their 20-2 record this season.
