Volleyball Recap: Carnegie Vanguard Falls to Fort Bend Marshall in First Game of Season

Carnegie Vanguard had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Bend Marshall Buffalos on Tuesday. The Rhinos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buffalos apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

While Carnegie Vanguard ultimately came up short, they really made Fort Bend Marshall work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-16, 22-25, 25-16.

Looking ahead, Carnegie Vanguard is taking a road trip to square off against Fort Bend Dulles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Bend Marshall, they will take on Alief Elsik at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
