Basketball Game Preview: Carrizozo Grizzlies vs. Hondo Valley Eagles

Carrizozo is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Mountainair on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Carrizozo had to suffer through a 75-23 loss at the hands of Mountainair. The Grizzlies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-15.

Meanwhile, Hondo Valley was beaten by Cliff 95-61 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Cowboys/Cowgirls: they've now lost three in a row.

Hondo Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Carrizozo, their loss dropped their record down to 5-17.

Carrizozo came up short against Hondo Valley when the teams last played on Tuesday, falling 52-41. Can Carrizozo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
