Football Recap: Jones Piles Up the Points Against Auburndale + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jones). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Auburndale Bloodhounds 37-3. The victory continues a trend for the Fightin' Tigers in their matchups with the Bloodhounds: they've now won three in a row.

Jones had a senior duo take command as Dereon Coleman threw for 161 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes and Daunte Wallace rushed for 171 yards and one TD while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Coleman's passing game has become a key predictor of the Fightin' Tigers' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Dj Hicks, who picked up 77 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Jones was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 314 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August of 2024.

Jones' win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Auburndale, they moved to 3-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Jones will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lake Wales at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. As for Auburndale, they will host Ridge Community at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
