Softball Recap: Bentworth Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bentworth can now relate to. They came up short against the West Shamokin Wolves on Monday, falling 11-5. The Bearcats' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Bentworth saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Gonglik, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Kayla ODell was another, going 3-for-4 with one run.

Bentworth's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for West Shamokin, their win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-4.

Bentworth does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Shamokin, they will head out to challenge South Williamsport at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mountaineers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight.
