Softball Recap: Northampton Gets the Win

Northampton won against Easthampton/Hampshire on Friday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Blue Devils walked away with a 10-7 win over the Mohawk Trail Regional Warriors. For the Blue Devils, this counts as revenge for the 7-5 victory the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

Emily Kajka made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Kajka was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Jani Gotay was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double. Rosie Simmons was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Northampton has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Northampton will face off against Monson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mohawk Trail Regional, they will challenge Pioneer Valley Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
