Basketball Recap: Haily Hereau's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Coronado over Arcadia

Coronado lost against Arcadia back in February of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Coronado Dons took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Arcadia Titans.

Several Dons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Haily Hereau, who went 6 of 15 en route to 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Those 12 points gave Hereau a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aundrea Rodriguez, who posted 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Even though they lost, Coronado smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Coronado's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-8. As for Arcadia, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-10.

Coronado wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 41-30 victory against Tempe on the 10th. As for Arcadia, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-13 loss against St. Mary's on the 10th.
