Football Game Preview: Norte Vista Braves vs. Vista del Lago Ravens + Official Tickets

The Norte Vista Braves will host the Vista del Lago Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Norte Vista is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 31.2 points per game this season.

Vista del Lago will be up against a hot Norte Vista squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Braves took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 49-22 victory over La Sierra. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Eagles are ranked 785th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Norte Vista's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jyden Henderson, who rushed for 30 yards and one score, and also threw for 49 yards and one TD. Henderson's passing game has become a key predictor of the Braves' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. King Butler also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 17 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of AB Saldana, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Vista del Lago didn't have too much trouble with JW North on Thursday as they won 24-6. The win continues a trend for the Ravens in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won three in a row.

Vista del Lago's win came from a few key players Norte Vista will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was EJ Mayhand-Souvenier, who rushed for 159 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 159 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Josiah Dupree-Boyd was another key signal caller, throwing for 182 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Vista del Lago was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 219 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Norte Vista's record now sits at 7-3. As for Vista del Lago, their record is now an identical 7-3.
