Preview: Cameron Dragons vs. Chillicothe Hornets
Cameron is 1-9 against Chillicothe since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Cameron Dragons will head out on the road to take on the Chillicothe Hornets at 6:00 p.m. Cameron is no doubt hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Cameron ended up a good deal behind St. Pius X and lost 59-40. While losing is never fun, Cameron can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 508th, while St. Pius X is ranked 210th).
Meanwhile, Chillicothe had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They managed a 44-38 victory over Lafayette.
Chillicothe can attribute much of their success to Jaishon White, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds, and James Mathew, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Mathew hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. Alijah Hibner was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Cameron's loss dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Chillicothe, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
