Basketball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Bayside Academy's Third in Last Four Outings

It's playoff time, and Bayside Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 47-40 victory over the Hillcrest Jaguars on Saturday. This was payback for the Admirals, who suffered a 46-41 defeat the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why Hillcrest lost, don't look at Jontavuis Lett. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points. Lett has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. J.T. Barlow was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Bayside Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points over those games. As for Hillcrest, their loss dropped their record down to 20-11.

Bayside Academy has already played their next contest, a 57-35 defeat against Wilcox Central on the 12th. Hillcrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
