Volleyball Recap: Mehlville Panthers vs. Northwest Lions
Mehlville managed to slip by Northwest the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Lions on Monday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Northwest scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23, 25-20.
Evie Truebbe and Karleigh Stover certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Truebbe had seven digs and two aces, while Stover had nine digs, eight kills, and two aces. Lona Floyd also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Mehlville has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. Northwest's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5-2.
