Basketball Recap: Calaveras Piles Up the Points Against Riverbank

Calaveras came into Friday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They claimed a resounding 66-33 win over the Riverbank Bruins. The Red Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 30 points or more this season.

Leading Calaveras to victory were Cohen Curran and Logan Pedersen. Curran went 6 of 9 on his way to 21 points and eight boards, while Pedersen went 6 of 10 on his way to 16 points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Koepp, who posted eight points.

Calaveras smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Calaveras' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-7. As for Riverbank, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Calaveras will face off against Summerville at 7:15 p.m. on January 17th. As for Riverbank, they will host Linden at 7:15 p.m. on January 17th. Linden knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Riverbank likes a good challenge.
