Basketball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 66-43 to the Commerce Tigers.

Commerce was led to victory by Mason Brown and Bryson Parks. Brown dropped a double-double with 16 points and 15 boards, while Parks posted 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Those 15 rebounds gave Brown a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maki Mitchell, who earned ten points and eight boards.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Commerce, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Mountain View will venture away from home to face off against Buford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bears will need to watch out since the Wolves have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Commerce, they will host East Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 75.57 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
