Basketball Recap: New Washington Takes a Loss

New Washington lost against Clarksville back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The match between the New Washington Mustangs and the Clarksville Generals didn't end well, with the New Washington Mustangs falling 69-54. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clarksville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ray McClendon, who went 9-for-17 en route to 20 points. McClendon's morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Zion Stewart, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards.

New Washington's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Clarksville, their win bumped their record up to 5-13.

New Washington has already played their next contest, a 53-45 defeat against Lanesville on the 14th. As for Clarksville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-38 loss against Salem on the 14th.
