Soccer Game Preview: North Polk vs. Indianola

North Polk has gone a perfect 3-0 against Indianola recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Comets will face off against the Indians at 7:00 p.m. North Polk's defense has only allowed 0.2 goals per game this season, so Indianola's offense will have their work cut out for them.

North Polk is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Iowa's top teams: Nevada, who was ranked 21st at the time (North Polk was ranked seventh). The Comets and the Cubs finished up their game with a 1-1 draw on Thursday. The result kept North Polk happy, as they haven't lost a game since March 28th.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Indianola's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against Dallas Center-Grimes, falling 6-0.

North Polk's draw gives them a new season record of 8-0-2. As for Indianola, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

North Polk took their victory against Indianola when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
