            Football Recap: University Trojans vs. Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            University had to hit the road for their first game and  it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were dealt  a  35-7 loss at the hands of the Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles on Saturday. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing  34-17 to the Eagles when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
 University's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess:  Cruz McMullens and  Jake Rabold, who each picked up one  interception apiece.
  Luke Vincent was nothing short of spectacular for Capistrano Valley Christian: he rushed for 235 yards and three  scores while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Vincent showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 67 yards.
The  victory  got Capistrano Valley Christian back to even at 1-1.
 University has already played their next contest,  a  23-7  win against Los Amigos on the 4th. As for Capistrano Valley Christian, they are taking a road trip to  square off against Laguna Hills  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
