After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Joseph Central, Green was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against Grace Christian as they made off with a 16-6 win. With that victory, the Bobcats brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Green got a massive performance out of Jayden Neal, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Taylor Patten, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Green always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
With the win, Green broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-7. As for Grace Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Coming up, Green will look to defend their home field on Monday against Notre Dame at 5:00 p.m. The Titans will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Bobcats surely won't give up without a fight. Grace Christian will be paying especially close attention to Green's game: after Green faces off against East, they'll take on Grace Christian again at 5:30 p.m. on the 24th.
