Baseball Game Preview: Prince George Royals vs. Dinwiddie Generals

Prince George is 2-8 against Dinwiddie since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Royals will host the Generals at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Prince George took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They skirted past L.C. Bird 8-6. The victory was some much needed relief for the Royals as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jack Mozucha made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Prince George's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 3-1 (and 3-8 when he doesn't). Mozucha was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Logan Heath was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gavin Landry, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Dinwiddie had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Thomas Dale 5-3.

Dinwiddie's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Prince George, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
