Baseball Recap: King's Fork Comes Up Short

King's Fork extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 3-5. They lost 14-4 to the Deep Creek Hornets. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly ten runs.

King's Fork saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Corbin Satchell, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

As for Deep Creek, their win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Deep Creek's side, JJ Stanton and John Hyman made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Stanton tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hyman struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At the plate, Stanton got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, while Hyman went 3-for-5 with two runs and two doubles.

In other batting news, Deep Creek let Tristin Mosley and Ethan Patrick run wild. Mosley went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Patrick got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Those two runs gave Patrick a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Owen Hoertt, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
