Baseball Recap: Cosumnes Oaks Triumphs

Cosumnes Oaks never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against El Dorado on Monday. They came out on top against the El Dorado Cougars by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Cosumnes Oaks got a great performance from Aaron Jeremic as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Jay McIntrye and Izzy Davis did most of the damage at the plate: McIntrye went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run, while Davis scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance gave Davis a new career-high in runs. Colby Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Cosumnes Oaks was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as El Dorado only posted a batting average of .105.

Cosumnes Oaks now has a winning record of 2-1. As for El Dorado, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Looking ahead, Cosumnes Oaks will host Kennedy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for El Dorado, they will venture away from home to take on Antelope at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. El Dorado is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
