Basketball Game Preview: West Wilkes Blackhawks vs. Wilkes Central Eagles

West Wilkes and Wilkes Central are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The West Wilkes Blackhawks will square off against the Wilkes Central Eagles at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

West Wilkes will bounce into Friday's match after beating Starmount, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. West Wilkes pulled ahead with a 67-66 photo finish over Starmount on Monday.

Meanwhile, Wilkes Central made easy work of Starmount on Saturday and carried off a 75-50 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 25 points or more this season.

West Wilkes' victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Wilkes Central, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

West Wilkes suffered a grim 73-50 defeat to Wilkes Central when the teams last played back in February. Thankfully for West Wilkes, Tyson Owens (who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
