Football Game Preview: La Salle Academy Rams vs. St. John's Prep Eagles

La Salle Academy is 0-3 against St. John's Prep since September of 2022 but things could change on Saturday. The Rams will host the Eagles at 1:00 p.m.

La Salle Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: North Kingstown, who was ranked second at the time (La Salle Academy was ranked third). The Rams were just a hair shy of victory on Saturday and fell 21-20 to the Skippers. The loss put an end to the Rams' undefeated start to the season.

Despite the defeat, La Salle Academy got top-tier performance from Sam Perry, who threw for 230 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes. A healthy portion of Perry's aerial production (81 yards to be exact) went to Antonio Bearden, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Meanwhile, St. John's Prep put another one in the bag last Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 47-21 margin over Central Catholic.

St. John's Prep's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for La Salle Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
