Baseball Game Preview: Byron Tigers vs. Dixon Dukes & Duchesses

Byron is 2-8 against Dixon since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Tigers will head out to take on the Dukes & Duchesses at 4:30 p.m. Byron will be looking to extend their current 18-game winning streak.

If Byron beats Dixon with 18 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Tigers put the hurt on Oregon with a sharp 18-0 win on Tuesday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Dixon might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-2 to North Boone, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Dukes & Duchesses have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dixon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Feit, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.

Byron's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Dixon, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Everything went Byron's way against Dixon when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Byron made off with an 11-2 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dukes & Duchesses turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
