Soccer Recap: Carson Comes Up Short

Carson lost against Salisbury back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars came up short against the Hornets, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Carson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 348th, while Salisbury are ranked 118th).

Carson has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Salisbury, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-0-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Carson will face off against rival East Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Salisbury is set to take on their familiar foe South Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
