Softball Recap: Choctaw Central Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Choctaw Central finally came back down to earth on Friday. They came up short against the Neshoba Central Rockets, falling 18-1. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Choctaw Central moved to 5-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 14.67 hits in those games compared to only 4.25 in the others. As for Neshoba Central, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Choctaw Central will challenge Ethel at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Neshoba Central, they will take on Eupora at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
