Soccer Game Preview: Wayne County vs. Perry

For the first time this season, Wayne County will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will host the Perry Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Perry took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Wayne County, who comes in off a win.

Wayne County's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Johnson 10-0.

Meanwhile, Perry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Academy for Classical Education.

Wayne County's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Perry, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Wayne County might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Perry when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
