Softball Game Preview: Nelson County Governors vs. Buffalo Gap Bison

The Nelson County Governors will head out on the road to take on the Buffalo Gap Bison at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Nelson County put up the most runs they have all season on Friday. They skirted past Altavista 10-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Governors.

Meanwhile, Buffalo Gap entered their tilt with Staunton on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Storm 18-0. Considering the Bison have won four matches by more than 15 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Buffalo Gap pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Nelson County, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-7.

Nelson County came up short against Buffalo Gap in their previous meeting back in March, falling 5-1. Can the Governors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
