Bunn hasn't had much luck against Rocky Mount recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bunn Wildcats just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Rocky Mount Gryphons at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Bunn will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Roanoke Rapids, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Bunn snuck past Roanoke Rapids with a 50-46 win on Monday.

Isaac Bailey was nothing short of spectacular: he dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. He is becoming a predictor of Bunn's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 5-1 (and 5-12 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of DJ Smith, who posted eight points and four steals.
Bunn smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Rocky Mount's strategy against Nash Central on Monday. Rocky Mount enjoyed a cozy 66-50 victory over Nash Central. Given the Gryphons' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 551st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rocky Mount's win came from a few key players Bunn will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zion Harris, who went 6-for-15 to rack up 17 points and eight assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Kelijah Evans was another key player, going 5-for-7 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds.
Bunn's record now sits at 10-13. As for Rocky Mount, their record now sits at 14-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Bunn has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 20.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Rocky Mount struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Bunn might still be hurting after the 73-53 loss they got from Rocky Mount when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can Bunn avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
