Baseball Game Preview: Neumann Celtics vs. Cambridge Christian Lancers

The Neumann Celtics will take on the Cambridge Christian Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Neumann is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Sports Leadership & Management 16-4. Winning may never get old, but the Celtics sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Meanwhile, Cambridge Christian got the win against Indian Rocks Christian on Tuesday by a conclusive 12-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lancers.

Luca Gonzalez was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Brody Bellomo, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Cambridge Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Cambridge Christian's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Neumann, their win bumped their record up to 17-11.
