Game recap: Last-minute score leads Pilot Point past Sanger

Pilot Point (Texas) captured the lead on a Chance Holman touchdown run with 1:00 to go in the fourth quarter to beat Sanger (Texas) 14-7 on Saturday.

The Indians pulled ahead on a Brandon Mann touchdown pass to Devin Teeters, and subsequently went into halftime leading 7-6. The Bearcats scored the winning points with a Holman touchdown run that came in the fourth quarter.

Despite scoring zero points in the third, Pilot Point still trailed by 1 point going into the fourth quarter. But eight points in the fourth helped PP pull out the victory.

Sanger's Mann was the standout player for his team. He threw one touchdown.

The Bearcats' standout player in the win was Holman. The senior ran for two touchdowns.

SHS's lone touchdown came on a 12-yard pass from Mann to Teeters in the first quarter.



The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which the Indians took, 56-0.

The loss was the third in a row for Sanger. With the win Pilot Point extended its winning streak to three games.

Pilot Point (3-0) will play a non-conference game against Aubrey next week, while Sanger (0-3) will take on Boyd also in a non-conference game.
