Kinsey White and Megan Hopkins did some serious damage despite the final result: White got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI, while Hopkins went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Hopkins is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was EllaKate Hanna, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Manteo hadn't done well against Currituck County recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Manteo skirted past Currituck County 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Redskins have posted against the Knights since March 17, 2021.
Manteo got a big performance out of Peedee Berry, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That stolen base was Berry's first of the season. Bridgett Berry was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
The win made it two in a row for Manteo and bumps their season record up to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Northside - Pinetown, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-4.
Both Northside - Pinetown and Manteo just can't seem to miss. Northside - Pinetown has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Manteo struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Northside - Pinetown came out on top in a nail-biter against Manteo when the teams last played on March 4th, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northside - Pinetown since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
