Softball Recap: Central of Clay County Volunteers vs. Horseshoe Bend Generals
Central of Clay County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 16-7 to the Horseshoe Bend Generals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Generals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 back in March.
Central of Clay County's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Horseshoe Bend, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3-1 record this season.
Central of Clay County will be playing in front of their home fans against Briarwood Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.22 runs per game on average), something the Volunteers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Horseshoe Bend, they are taking a road trip to challenge Beulah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
