Basketball Game Preview: St. Paul Lutheran Saints vs. Meadville Eagles

The St. Paul Lutheran Saints and the Meadville Eagles will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Paul Lutheran will be strutting in after a win while Meadville will be coming in after a loss.

St. Paul Lutheran took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 48-33 victory over Cole Camp.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Meadville's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 59-45 bruising from Cameron.

St. Paul Lutheran will have to keep a close watch on Donivan Schreckhise and Carter Thompson, a pair of players who had a big impact on Meadville's prior game. Schreckhise went 7 of 14 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds, while Thompson posted 13 points.

St. Paul Lutheran pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Meadville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
