Basketball Game Preview: Red Wing Wingers vs. Winona Winhawks

Red Wing is 2-8 against Winona since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Red Wing Wingers will head out to face off against the Winona Winhawks at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Red Wing will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Austin, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Red Wing had just enough and edged Austin out 76-73.

Meanwhile, Winona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-59 heartbreaker at the hands of Mankato West. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (58), the Winhawks still had to take the loss.

Winona's defeat dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Red Wing, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 8-13.

Red Wing couldn't quite finish off Winona in their previous meeting back in January and fell 63-61. Can Red Wing avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
