Basketball Recap: Holcomb Victorious

On Monday, the Holcomb Hornets didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Westwood Baptist Academy Eagles, but they still walked away with a 41-37 win.

Westwood Baptist Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sydney Hawley, who went 7 for 16 en route to 15 points. The game was Hawley's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taryn Kirkley, who posted six points and eight assists.

Holcomb's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Westwood Baptist Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.

Looking ahead, Holcomb and Senath-Hornersville will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for Westwood Baptist Academy, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles take on the Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westwood Baptist Academy is facing Center Place at the right time seeing as Center Place is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
