Softball Recap: Alexander Drops Highest Score of Season Against Oak Hill

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Meigs, Alexander was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They skirted past the Oak Hill Oaks 15-14. The Spartans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Alexander got a massive performance out of Maddie Brookins, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave Brookins a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Hudnall, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Alexander was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .487. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Alexander's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-11. As for Oak Hill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alexander will square off against Clay at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oak Hill, they will face off against Eastern at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Oaks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season.
