Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Hancock's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hancock had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They blew past the Terry Bulldogs 16-1. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.

Hancock got a massive performance out of Teegan DeWitt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most runs DeWitt has posted since back in April of 2024. Abigail Carver was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hancock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

Hancock is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Terry, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

As of now, neither Hancock nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
