Baseball Recap: Fairmont Senior Beats Doddridge County for Their Fifth Straight Win

Fairmont Senior waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Doddridge County Bulldogs 16-4. Considering the Polar Bears have won six matchups by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Noah Pethel was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Pethel was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Matt Masters was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Brock Martin, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Fairmont Senior always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
