Baseball Recap: Key West Gets the Win

On Saturday Key West's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Gulf Shores Dolphins. That's two games straight that the Conchs have won by just one run.

Auggy Davila was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

In other pitching news, Cruz Holmes got the start for Key West and what a start it was: he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Holmes posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025.

Davila wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jackie Niles, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Key West's record is now 10-0. As for Gulf Shores, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Coming up, Key West will head out on the road to square off against Westminster Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gulf Shores, they will host DeSoto Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
