Basketball Recap: Odessa Takes a Loss

Odessa lost against Permian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Odessa Bronchos were dealt a 68-40 defeat at the hands of the Permian Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Bronchos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 597th, while the Panthers are ranked 139th).

Odessa has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-18 record this season. As for Permian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Odessa will head out to face off against Midland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Odessa is facing Midland at the right time seeing as Midland is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Permian, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Permian Panthers duke it out with the San Angelo Central Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
