Desert Hills is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Mater Dei. The Thunder took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monarchs. The Thunder have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Desert Hills may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 16 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-16.

Desert Hills' loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Mater Dei, they pushed their record up to 20-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road.
