Basketball Game Preview: Anderson County Mavericks vs. Scott Highlanders

Anderson County and Scott are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Anderson County Mavericks will be playing at home against the Scott Highlanders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Anderson County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Scott likes a good challenge.

If Scott heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Anderson County took over last week. Anderson County came out on top against Gibbs by a score of 71-61 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Scott ended up a good deal behind Clinton on Friday and lost 61-47. The loss continues a trend for the Highlanders in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now lost three in a row.

The victory got Anderson County back to even at 7-7. As for Scott, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Everything came up roses for Anderson County against Scott when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 73-38 win. Will Anderson County repeat their success, or does Scott have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
