Basketball Game Preview: Bonneville Lakers vs. Viewmont Vikings

The Bonneville Lakers will head out to challenge the Viewmont Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Wednesday, Bonneville came up short against Box Elder and fell 62-52. The Lakers have struggled against the Bees recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Viewmont). They came out on top against Northridge by a score of 75-66 on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Vikings who have now won three games in a row.

Bonneville better keep an eye on Drezdon Jensen. He was instrumental in Viewmont's win, going 8 for 17 en route to 24 points. Jensen's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Lukus Toner was another key player, going 6 of 7 on his way to 15 points.

Viewmont is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for Bonneville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Bonneville suffered a grim 74-50 defeat to Viewmont in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Bonneville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
