Basketball Game Preview: Leonard Tigers vs. Whitesboro Bearcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Leonard Tigers challenge the Whitesboro Bearcats at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday... Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Leonard comes in on eight and Whitesboro on three.

On Friday, Leonard didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Blue Ridge, but they still walked away with a 50-45 victory. Given Leonard's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 549th, while Blue Ridge is ranked 1276th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Whitesboro got the win against Boyd on Friday by a conclusive 69-48.

Leonard is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Whitesboro, their win bumped their record up to 17-7.

Leonard didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Whitesboro when the teams last played last Friday, but they still walked away with a 58-53 victory. Will Leonard repeat their success, or does Whitesboro have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
