Basketball Recap: Freedom Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Freedom and Northwest Cabarrus squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Freedom had to settle for second. The contest between the Freedom Patriots and the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans didn't end well, with the Freedom Patriots falling 72-54. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 57-56 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.

Freedom's defeat dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

Freedom does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they will square off against Crest on Friday. Crest knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 games -- so hopefully Northwest Cabarrus likes a good challenge.
